Angel Baby Photo Quilt Wholecloth Pattern
Paper Patter to trace onto fabric.
When you place the baby in the center of the quilt to take a photo, it looks like the baby has angel wings and a halo.
This is a full size paper pattern that measures 55 x 55 inches. This is to be traced onto fabric with a blue water soluble pen and sewn. You can use a domestic machine, longarm, hand quilting or even hand embroider the design. The original angel quilt was done with raw washed silk from Dharma Trading.
These pictures show different variations for the edge border and border around the crosshatching. You don’t have to do the straight lines or the echoing. You can use any type of background fill to connect the crosshatching to the feathers and the feathers to the edge of the fabric. It’s best to give yourself plenty of outside border so you can square up you quilt without cutting into your feathers. To get that trapunto look I use two layers of batting, one layer of a blend on the bottom and a medium to thin poly on top. I can also use one layer of Warm and Natural Soft and Bright to get the same effect. Don’t use a thin layer of batting and call it good, you won’t like it. You can also add crystals to the halo if it is to be used as a wall hanging.
